MILCHHOF MERAN | Foundation Stone Laid
Milchhof Meran Lays Foundation Stone for New Administrative Building
Milchhof Meran has officially laid the foundation stone for its new administrative building in the presence of distinguished guests.
Chairman Thomas Egger and Managing Director Florian Baumgartner welcomed Mayor Dr. Katharina Zeller, City Councilors Christoph Mitterhofer and Stefan Frötscher, Deputy Commander of the Municipal Police Riccardo Raffeiner, Fire Chief of FF Untermais Thomas Zwischenbrugger, members of the Supervisory Board, department heads of Milchhof Meran, and representatives of the companies involved in the construction. Together, they symbolically marked the start of the new, modern facility.
Mayor Dr. Katharina Zeller praised Milchhof Meran as a prime example of Merano’s economic strength:
“We are proud that such a successful and nationally renowned company is part of the city of Merano. It secures the livelihoods of 185 dedicated employees and 530 farming families, while strengthening the entire regional value chain.”
“The new administrative building will significantly enhance our competitiveness,” said Chairman Egger. “It also offers an opportunity to further foster our proven work culture through innovative architecture and to position the cooperative sustainably for the future.”
The new building reinforces Milchhof Meran’s prominent position at the entrance to the spa town and makes a bold architectural statement. Designed by architect Manuel Gschnell of DEAR, the project follows a comprehensive master plan that optimizes operations and accommodates future expansion. Guided by the principle of “form follows function,” the building reflects the cooperative’s working culture and values. Transparency, openness, and durability are key features, along with sustainable solutions in materials and energy use.
Public spaces, including a bistro, will make the company accessible to both locals and tourists, further strengthening Milchhof Meran’s connection to the city of Merano.
